1. ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION DEADLINE
The 2008 Coerver Cup is a non restricted tournament. It is open to all US Club Soccer Member Clubs, USYSA and or State affiliated teams and clubs that are in good standing.
a. Participants shall consist of boys and girls teams from U9 to U19. Groups placing of teams will be based on the following criteria:1) Regional Teams 2) State Cup Teams 3) Competitive teams and 4) Intermediate teams .The tournament committee reserves the right to determine where teams are placed.
b. After February 1st 2008 applications will only be accepted on a space available basis and will incur a $100 late fee. Teams should review the website and application for this information. If an age group is over-subscribed, or the number of applicants cannot be accommodated in an acceptable competitive format, the following criteria can be considered in determining entries. The tournament committee reserves the right to accept or reject any application.
• Level of play of a team.
• If any age groups are oversubscribed, consideration for entry may be given
to clubs that have also entered teams in other age brackets.
• Date of a team’s application, regardless of the application deadline.
c. No entry fee refunds for team drops will be granted other than as may be set forth in the Cup application rules. The tournament committee also reserves the right to impose an additional penalty for any team drops after a stated deadline.
2. TOURNAMENT AUTHORITY
The Tournament Director shall have ultimate authority over all tournament competitions and discipline matters. The interpretation of the rules and all decisions of the Tournament Director are final. The Tournament Director may be assisted by the Tournament Rules Committee. For the purposes of these Rules, the authority of any Competition Director and the Tournament Director shall be synonymous.
The Tournament Rules Committee shall be appointed by the Tournament Director, who shall also serve as an ex officio committee member. Any Tournament Rules Committee members in attendance shall serve on the Tournament Discipline Committee.
3. COMPETITION FORMAT
The competition will consist of round robin play. One game per day (is the aim) Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The winners of the group will be crowned champions.
The Tournament Director, in consultation with the Tournament Rules Committee:
a. Reserves the right to determine the size of each competitive group, and the right to alter the groups and format to account for larger or uneven numbers of teams in a given competitive division.
b. Shall determine the schedule and start times of all games, including adequate rest time between games, and altering the schedule of one game per day where necessary.
c. May seed teams into their round robin group , based upon the best available evidence of a team’s competitive abilities, and their results in prior National Cups.
